Cadillac XTS Massage Seats Car seats have really come a long way in terms of comfort, with more and more models offering power adjustable seats, lumbar support, and premium materials for a ride that's a great deal less fatigue-inducing than those of years past. Now Cadillac, a regular front runner on the luxury technology scene, is introducing new seats that go above and beyond what you'd expect to see, even on a high-end model: massaging seats. Available on two new models, the XTS and Escalade, these seats have the potential to greatly improve life on the road for drivers. Today we'll tell you a bit more about the Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac XTS massage seats -- maybe you'll want to try them out sometime. more Why massage seats? Believe it or not, it's not just about over-the-top luxury. There are many benefits to massage, especially for those who work in offices or spend long hours on the road for work. Relieving muscle tension and stress through massage can help people feel less fatigued and improve overall feelings of well-being. How it works: You can actually choose the massage settings you prefer and store them in your XTS or Escalade's memory just like you store the information for your seat positions. You'll be able to see in your infotainment screen the details of the massage as well as the level of intensity. There are settings for rolling, kneading, and anti-fatigue. A button on the base of the seat will activate your preferred settings. The CT6 is coming!

Cadillac CT6 Release Date By now, Cadillac fans have heard about the upcoming release of the all new CT6 -- a technologically advanced, top-of-the-line (quite literally, it'll come in at the top of the Cadillac line of vehicles) sedan that isn't meant to replace any of the current Cadillac models, but rather to expand upward into a new level of performance and luxury for a brand already well-steeped in both those attributes. If you're wanting additional details about his model or you're wondering about the Cadillac CT6 release date, we'll tell you everything we know so far, and you can definitely come back to our blog for future updates! more The CT6 will sit atop the line of current Cadillac sedans in production, including the CTS, ATS, and XTS. It's going to be lighter than even the CTS - 53 pounds to be exact, in addition to being 8 inches longer - and aims to be the lightest in its class of high-end luxury sedans. Another interesting piece of news that's come regarding the Cadillac CT6 release is that it will be a plug-in hybrid that start with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that's paired to an 8-speed transmission. Expected to get up into the 400-horsepower  neighborhood, with estimates in the less than six-second 0-60 time, this will truly be a vehicle like none we've seen before. Here's something else we think sounds quite interesting: In a recent meeting the head of GM product development announced a new type of rear-view mirror called a "Thru-View" which will replace the traditional rear view mirror with stream video from the rear camera. This will help present a wider, less obstructed view of what's behind you while you drive. While we're still not sure exactly when this model will come into production, we know that it's well in the works and according to GM's media site it's expected to be released late next year (2015). Stay tuned to our blog and we'll be sure to let you know as we get more news about the CT6!

Drivers in the Kenosha area and throughout the Midwest won't want to commit to this car until they've found out how it handles in winter road conditions. more For your consideration, we think the following reasons are all part of what makes the Cadillac CTS a good pick for winter driving if you prefer to buy a car over an SUV or truck: Power and drive options: First of all, the CTS is available with all-wheel drive, which for many is a huge deciding factor in which sedan to opt for when they know they'll be taking on snow and ice. Delivering power to all four wheels gives many drivers and increased sense of control and confidence with improved traction. That said, even if you go for the rear-wheel drive, there are plenty of reasons the CTS is till a good pick. For example... Brembo brakes: One of the biggest challenges of winter driving is the ability to brake quickly and safely when it becomes necessary. The Brembo brakes with available Magnetic Ride Control make it easier to feel secure that you'll be able to stop when you need to. LED lighting: A big aspect of staying safe on snowy winter days is the ability to see -- and be seen. With crisp, smooth LED lights that benefit both your visibility and the ability of others to see you coming, everyone is that much safer on the road. Get to know the Cadillac CTS

What does Cadillac CTS stand for? You know the Cadillac CTS. It's that striking, powerful, technologically advanced sport sedan that just won Motor Trend's 2014 Car of the Year. Oh yeah, that one! It's kind of hard to miss.  But here's a question you may or may not have thought of before: What does Cadillac CTS stand for? Today we'll explore a little bit of our favorite luxury sedan's beginnings, including where it gets the name CTS. Then we'll tell you more about the current model, in stock now here at Palmen Buick GMC Cadillac! more The Cadillac CTS was introduced in 2002 as a 2003 model, so it's just over ten years old. Some special facts about its introduction: it was the first Cadillac to offer a manual transmission since the Cimarron back in 1988, though today the sedan is only available in 6- and 8-speed automatic (You can still find a manual on some used models, though, if that's your thing!). The first generation CTS also helped usher in Cadillac's now-famous "Art & Science" design language that still permeates the brand's stunning lineup. CTS stands for Catera Touring Sedan, as the model came in as Cadillac's successor to the Catera mid-size sedan which was produced from 1997-2001. If you have a good memory for things like this, it was "the Caddy that zigs" and had ads featuring Cindy Crawford: Nowadays, the Catera's successor, our mighty CTS, is even more fit for a princess/supermodel. With features that automakers of decades past only imagined in their science-fiction imaginations like the Cadillac User Experience (CUE) information and  media control system with embedded navigation, heated and ventilated front seats, adaptive remote start, and Ultrasonic Rear Park Assist, we think this hyper-modern luxury sedan is one of the best options out there (and the critics seem to agree!). Want to test drive one today? Come on in and see us here at Palmen Buick GMC Cadillac, and see how far the CTS has come.

Classic movie Cadillac needs major restoration

How far would you go to make sure that one of your favorite pieces of history was maintained? Well, for some movie buffs, that favorite piece of history is the ECTO-1 from the Ghostbusters movies. As it turns out, the 1959 Cadillac ambulance used in the sequel of the film is in pretty rough shape, as it remains unattended on the Sony pictures lot. The love for the car, known as the ECTO-1A, has sparked an online petition to restore the ECTO-1 from Ghostbusters 2. more As you can imagine, a 1959 Cadillac that hasn’t had much going on since the 1989 release of Ghostbusters 2 is probably in pretty rough shape. As Cadillac fans here at Palmen Buick GMC Cadillac, we have to say that we would love to see the classic Caddy be brought back to its proudest form. Just finding a car of that age in good condition in this day and age can be tricky. If you are a big fan of the movie, then you know that in the original, the car is found as a potential vehicle for the team to use. But, it needs some work. In the words of Ray Stanz in the film, the car needs “suspension work and shocks, brakes, brake pads, lining, steering box, transmission, rear end, new rings, mufflers, a little wiring.” The cost for such repairs was priced at $4,800. Unfortunately, in 2013 reality, the current ECTO-1A will probably need a bit more work than this cost could pay for. And by a bit, we mean ‘a lot.’ No matter the outcome of the attempt to restore the ECTO-1 from Ghostbusters 2, it is intriguing the lengths fans will go for some of their favorite movie items. We might not have a 1959 Cadillac available on the lot here at Palmen, but we do have some impressive new and used Cadillacs to show off. Check us out – and let us know if you joined the ECTO-1 petition!
